Plymouth College of Art
Kicking off a new series of shorts we are making for Plymouth College Art called ‘‘Alumni Shorts’’, we catch up with photography graduate Andy Ford and get an insight to his professional career. The aim is to bring light to the successful students that have left Plymouth College of Art and are doing what they love for a living in the art sector. This was a really fun one to make, Andy’s live music photography for the NME and Kerrang! is amazing, and the way he talks about hanging out backstage with some of the biggest bands in the world like it’s nothing is a thing of beauty (and disgusting jealousy).
One year on from graduation, we find out more about Andy's process, practice and passion for photography – including his work for clients including Peugeot, Red Bull, Converse and shooting artists ranging from Beyonce to Slayer for some of the world's most prestigious music magazines. Andy also gives some top tips for aspiring photographers, and explains why Plymouth is a location packed with possibility for creative minds.
Here are a few photographs from the making of.
